Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to build an injection mold?
Standard single-cavity molds take 4–6 weeks from DFM approval to T1 sample. Multi-cavity or complex molds with sliders typically require 6–10 weeks. We provide a detailed project timeline with every quotation.
What files do I need to submit for a quotation?
Send a 3D file (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances and surface finish specifications. Also include the material specification, annual volume, and your target delivery date. We will return a DFM analysis and quotation within 24 hours.
Who owns the mold after I pay?
You do — 100%. Every mold purchase includes a mold ownership transfer certificate. We also sign NDAs before reviewing any proprietary designs. You have the right to transfer the mold to any production facility without restriction.
What steel grades do you use for mold cavities?
We select steel based on production volume, resin, and surface finish requirements. Standard grades include P20 (general purpose), H13 (high volume/high temp), S136 (corrosion resistant/medical), and NAK80 (mirror finish). All steels come with mill certificates.
Do you provide mold trial samples?
Yes. All molds include in-house T1 trial shots on our 50T–1,000T injection molding machines. We ship a minimum of 10 labeled first-article sample parts with every mold, along with the full CMM dimensional report.
What are your payment terms?
Standard terms are 50% deposit upon order confirmation, 50% balance payment before mold shipment after T1 sample approval. We accept T/T (bank transfer). For established customers, other arrangements can be discussed.
